1. About these terms
These terms govern use of the Localex website. A quotation, statement of work, accepted purchase order or separate written agreement may contain additional project terms. Where a project agreement conflicts with these website terms, the project agreement takes precedence for that project.
2. Using this website
You may use the website for lawful business and informational purposes. You must not use it unlawfully or fraudulently, introduce malicious material, interfere with operation, test or bypass security without authorisation, or gain unauthorised access to systems or data.
3. Website information and intellectual property
Website content is general information rather than legal, medical, financial, regulatory or other professional advice. Unless otherwise stated, text, branding, design and original media belong to Localex or its licensors and may not be commercially reproduced without permission.
4. Enquiries and quotations
Submitting an enquiry or receiving an acknowledgement does not create a contract. A contract forms only through the acceptance mechanism stated in the quotation or agreement. A quotation is based on available information and remains valid only for its stated period; material changes may require revision before work begins.
5. Client material and instructions
You confirm that you are authorised to provide material and instructions and that the agreed use will not unlawfully infringe another person’s rights. You remain responsible for source content, final business decisions and professional approvals outside the agreed language-services scope.
6. Deliverables and intellectual-property rights
The quotation or project agreement identifies deliverables, usage restrictions, third-party materials, performer rights or licences, and whether transferable intellectual-property rights pass to the client. These website terms make no blanket ownership-transfer promise.
7. Delivery, feedback and corrections
Delivery follows the agreed schedule where required material, decisions and access arrive on time. The project agreement defines the feedback period and included correction or revision round. Preference changes, new source material or a changed brief may require a separate quotation.
8. Fees and payment
Fees, taxes, currency, invoicing and payment dates are stated in the quotation or project agreement. Localex may exercise statutory rights relating to late commercial payment where applicable.
9. Confidentiality
Each party must protect the other’s confidential information and use it only for the agreed purpose. Where an NDA is required before disclosure, contact us without attaching material so an appropriate arrangement can be agreed first.
10. Interpretation, voice-over and third-party bookings
Reserved interpreters, studios, voice talent and other third-party resources may have project-specific cancellation, postponement, usage-right and expense terms. These are disclosed before a booking is accepted.
11. Cancellation
If a project is cancelled after work begins, charges may apply for completed work, non-cancellable third-party commitments and other costs identified in the project agreement.
12. Liability
Nothing excludes liability where doing so would be unlawful, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Project-specific warranties, remedies, exclusions or limits are governed by the applicable agreement. Language services do not replace qualified legal, clinical, financial or regulatory review.
13. Availability and external links
We do not guarantee uninterrupted website availability and may update, suspend or withdraw parts of it. External links are provided for convenience and do not imply control or endorsement unless expressly stated.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These website terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Its courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory rights and any different provision in an applicable project agreement.
